  • Planting Time and Soil Preparation: Dill climbing vines are best planted in late spring, after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up. Prepare the soil by ensuring it is well-draining and rich in organic matter. Incorporate compost or well-rotted manure to improve fertility. The soil pH should be between 6.0 and 7.0 for optimal growth.

  • Lighting Requirements: These vines thrive in full sun, so choose a planting site that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight each day. Adequate sunlight is crucial for vigorous growth and abundant foliage. In areas with extremely hot climates, providing some afternoon shade can help prevent sunburn and keep the plant healthy.

  • Watering Interval: Maintain a consistent watering schedule to keep the soil evenly moist. Water the dill vines once a week, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. During hot and dry periods, you may need to water more frequently to ensure the plants do not experience stress. Avoid waterlogging, as it can lead to root rot.

  • Flowering Time: Dill climbing vines typically flower in mid to late summer. The plant produces small, yellow-green flowers that form dense umbels. Flowering can attract beneficial insects like pollinators. To extend the flowering period, ensure the plants receive proper care, including adequate water and sunlight.

  • Maintenance and Support: Provide a trellis or other climbing support for dill vines to help them grow upward and stay organized. Regularly check the vines for pests and diseases, and remove any affected parts to keep the plant healthy. Prune back any overly leggy or damaged growth to promote better air circulation and encourage a more robust plant structure.

Good to Grow Guarantee

Your plants are guaranteed to arrive healthy and ready to grow! Any cosmetic damage from shipping, like brown or torn leaves, will not affect the health of your plants, and plants will bounce right back after being thoroughly watered and planted.

Please Note

Plant Right Away!

Do not leave your plant in the shipping box or container. If your plants are wilting, they can easily be revived by thoroughly watering them. Most plants will bounce right back from shipping.

Shipping plants may cause some leaves and branches to break. You may find some leaves and even soil in the package from shipping. Please don't be alarmed. This is normal and will not affect the health of your new plants.

If your plants arrive damaged, we must be notified within 5 days of delivery with photos of damaged plants and damaged packaging.
